What is it and how does it work?

CATALYST ENZYMES is a natural product based on enzymes, proteins produced by bacteria found in the intestines; these, after careful selection, are made to reproduce and multiply in culture soil.

Catalyst Enzymes is a product formulated specifically for Badi Farm, which uses a special blend of enzymes and catalysts, with the function of digesting organic matter and guaranteeing a significant reduction of ammonia (transformed into mineral salts) without raising the bedding temperature and modifying the optimal parameters for the horse's life.

Dirty and untreated bedding is a biological "bomb"; in fact there are many bacterial colonies that we cannot see with the naked eye; if not well managed, daily cleaning etc., they cause serious health problems for the horse, from frog rot to irritation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory system caused by ammonia fumes that reduce sporting performance.

They are used by many stables and are also used in our breeding facility!

animals and the environment.

Catalyzed permanent bedding or traditional bedding?

• With traditional bedding, during normal box cleaning about 30% to 40% of still clean material is discarded.
• The bedding, in addition to absorbing liquids, supports the horse's weight and therefore must be soft, so traditional bedding does not work well because it is low and often the horse moves it aside, then resting on hard flooring and developing capped hocks or sores.
• Urine, in traditional bedding, produces ammonia fumes that irritate the mucous membranes of the respiratory system, predisposing it to diseases and reducing sporting performance; even with the use of strong disinfectants the same irritating effect is achieved.
• Due to the fermentations that always accompany the decomposition of bedding, there may be bacteria that can cause problems to the horse's general condition and foot infections.

Enzymes: the solution to avoid ammonia fumes

In any season it is always very important the quality of the air inside the stable but especially in the box, since with urine ammonia invades by evaporating all environments. This gas is released from the degradative processes of beddings and in conditions of low atmospheric pressure tends to remain at levels close to the ground, therefore it is even more dangerous for resting horses or for growing foals who continue to breathe it putting the respiratory system in crisis. These have a damaging action on the mucous membranes of the first part of the respiratory tract, important for maintaining good respiratory rhythm and good performance in muscle work, from the lightest to the most demanding. Furthermore, having microlesions on the mucous membranes predisposes to infections and inflammations linked to the inhalation of bacteria.

It is also scientifically proven that young animals exposed to high levels of this gas tend to have growth delays.
