Fly-control protocol

Fly control protocol

Fly Control Protocol

What is a protocol? It is a coordinated series of consistent measures and operations necessary to eliminate or significantly reduce the presence of flies in a specific location. To achieve effective control, we must act early across multiple biological levels, preventing flies from:

  • Hatching and developing as larvae.
  • Living and colonizing target areas.
  • Establishing a permanent presence in the environment.
  • Creating ideal biological niches for reproduction.

The key is simple: create an environment hostile to their survival through consistent treatments.

1. Start early (April or earlier)

Fly Mix

Biological Control with FLY MIX (Spalangia Cameroni and Muscidifurax Spp fly parasitoids)

These beneficial insects are entirely harmless to humans, the environment, and animals, but they are fierce enemies of fly pupae. They insert their own larvae into fly pupae, effectively preventing the next generation of flies from emerging.

Application: Repeat treatments every 28/30 days (from April to September) along bedding perimeters, in horse stalls, manure piles, garbage disposal sites, and flower beds.

2. Simultaneously: External Barriers

FLY TRAP Traps and Refills

Hang FLY TRAP traps roughly 15 to 20 meters away from the stables or barns. They do not draw indoor flies out, but rather intercept flies externally the moment they migrate toward the buildings. Available in convenient disposable or reusable models with bait refills.

3. Create an Unsuitable Environment

Enzymes Catalizzatore

Deep Hygiene and ENZYMES CATALIZZATORE

Keep water troughs and feeders spotlessly clean, and strip away old cobwebs (where flies typically deposit eggs to hatch). Use Enzymes Catalizzatore to treat horse bedding or pet litter zones: it boosts beneficial bacteria that digest organic matter, neutralizing ammonia and fermentation odors that attract flies.

New bedding treated with our Catalyst Enzymes can stay healthy and fresh for up to a full year!

4. Corridors, Annexes, and Barns

Cleaning with GREEN GLOOP

Wash aisles, facility corridors, balconies, and waste collection areas with diluted Green Gloop. It is an outstanding germicidal, non-toxic detergent explicitly engineered to thoroughly sanitize concrete, rubber, and plastic flooring surfaces.

5. Direct Protection and Interiors

Fly Farm

FLY FARM Repellent and Light Traps

Starting in May, apply Fly Farm (cream or diluted spray) directly onto animals to provide a powerful, natural protective barrier against horseflies, mosquitoes, and flies. Indoors, leverage our fully compliant Light Traps (relying on sticky boards rather than electrocution, making them safe for food areas) alongside specialized sticky fly rolls.
