Calculating the correct quantity of material needed for a fence to function properly is necessarily an arithmetic calculation.
Follow the simple formulas below.
To calculate the metres of tape needed:
Number of heights (strands) you want around the perimeter (rounded to available reel sizes)
To calculate the quantity of posts:
Number of posts: divide the perimeter by 4m or 5m
To calculate the number of insulators:
Number of insulators: number of posts x number of (height) strands. Gates: for each gate measure (n°1 Ref. 11 + n°2 Ref. 35) x strand of tape + n°1 Ref. 59H
To calculate connection with battery or cell energiser:
Choose Ref. E4, E34, E7 or Ref. E6, + n°2 Ref. 59L + Ref. 59H + Ref. T1
To calculate connection with mains energiser:
Ref. E5 + m? Ref. 28 + n°2 Ref. 35 + Ref. 52 + Ref. 59H + Ref. T1
To calculate dividers:
Number of heights (tape strands) x metres of divider; + number of heights x Ref. 35 + Ref. 59H
To avoid the unpleasant consequences of a dangerous fence, installation must be carefully planned. It may seem contradictory, but electric fences can also be dangerous because, given their incredible effectiveness, if proper maintenance is not carried out and it is underestimated that current from the energiser must always be present and the fence must be properly tensioned, problems can arise. It is extremely important to verify that the fence is composed of all the necessary components.
