Electrified fences to strengthen biosecurity measures

The presence of a valid electrified fence in pig farms is one of the measures required by the Health Authorities to strengthen BIOSECURITY in farms in response to the ASF (African Swine Fever) emergency.

We at Badi Farm, with over 30 years of experience in the field of Electrified Fences, are today at the forefront of creating and providing a valid electrified fence to strengthen biosecurity measures on farms. With the Shockproof Security Electrified System, it is possible to prevent direct contact between domestic pigs and external wild animals, such as wild boars. Among the requirements set by the Authorities is the construction of traditional metal fences on the outer perimeter and a robust electrified system spaced about 100cm from the mesh on the inside of the enclosure. The 100cm distance will prevent snout-to-snout contact between the farmed pigs and any wild boars present outside.

WARNING: If the farm is located in an area with a high presence of wild boars and wild animals, an additional external electrification to the perimeter one must be provided, always signaled by the appropriate electrical presence warning signs Ref. 27.

Our solution and components

The Electrified Tape

We suggest applying at least 2-3 rows of 13mm or 20mm Shockproof Security Electrified Tape (Ref. M2 and Ref. M1), placed at different heights from each other (minimum 10cm from the ground, maximum 60cm).

Guaranteed for 10 years, it features high mechanical resistance and extraordinary conductivity (stainless steel wires). Composed of a 0.50mm anti-UV polyethylene weave and 0.80mm polyester shockproof threads at the edges to prevent stretching.

Energizers and Insulators

The beating heart of the entire System. We catalog several energizer devices depending on whether you need a 220v power supply or a 12v gel battery and solar panel for battery maintenance (Ref. E7 and Ref. E8).

To support the tape, the Ref. 9N insulator is resistant to the scorching sun during summer months, well-built, and perfectly insulates the tape, avoiding dispersion.

Maintenance? Minimal but necessary

Our Badi Farm Security electrified fences work so well even under "stress" from contact with vegetation that you often forget to do basic maintenance, such as cutting the vegetation under the tape or trimming branches touching the perimeter.

We always suggest being consistent with routine maintenance to avoid an excessive drop in System performance. If cutting the grass underneath is not possible, we recommend using a strip of perimeter mulching fabric. Also, frequently check the fence's performance with the Ref. 18 and Ref. 19 tester to intervene in time on the weakest points.
