Flies are insects, very widespread in most habitats, and particularly where there is greater availability of organic substrates. In various environments, flies, when they exceed certain population levels, can cause various problems that can be summarized as:

• nuisance to animals and workers with negative repercussions on production and work efficiency
• economic losses in livestock farms
• discomfort for urban areas located near structures favorable to insect development
• possible disease transmission and related reports and inspections by health authorities.

A biological solution that respects agriculture, livestock farming, and the environment. Biological control is effective against all types of flies and, in particular, against the house fly, stable fly, and biting flies that feed on blood. The cornerstone of the Program is the use of beneficial insects (also called parasitoids), that is, small hymenopterans, natural antagonists of flies, completely harmless to humans, animals, and plants. The selected hymenopterans are able to interrupt the biological cycle of the fly, drastically reducing its harmful infestations.

Biological control acts on the pupal stage of the fly. Control is achieved mainly through periodic release of 28-day cycles of Beneficial Insects, Spalangia and Muscidifurax spp, which reproduce exclusively inside the fly pupa. Once parasitized, the pupa does not complete its life cycle and dies. The new beneficial insect emerges from the pupa and restarts the cycle. The beneficial insects are delivered to you inside special sealed but breathable bags.

The distribution method is manual, broadcast distribution, mainly on the edges of the bedding and/or in the manure pile. In this regard, whenever bedding or manure is removed, it is advisable to leave a border in place so that parasitoids can continue to live undisturbed.

Parasitoids are absolutely harmless to humans, animals, and plants. They live approximately one month and reproduce inside bedding and manure piles. They do not transmit diseases.
