Troubleshooting

In case of problems

  • There is no power.
Check the ground, it is probably not sufficient, check the electrical connections, check if there is power in the energizer; beware it could also be that your energizer has suffered a lightning strike: in this case it can be repaired by replacing the Ref. A board, request it from us.
  • The battery is dead.
Plants are touching the tape and grounding it, or the tape is touching and discharging at some point, or you left the end of the tape rolled up in the spool, or several of these causes combined.
  • A horse hit the tape and knocked it down: what do I do?
First I replace all the insulators that have given way, then I raise the tape and only then do I connect the tape, verify the current flow: if I find leaks or breakage problems, I cut the tape, remove the damaged part and replace it using buckles Ref. 24, Ref. 22 or Ref. 39.
  • You hear a continuous “clack clack” on the tape near an insulator.
It is probable that at that point the tape was stressed by tensioning or a tear: check that it is clean and that the stainless steel wires are intact, or that the insulator, tensioner or switch where you hear the noise has no points of dispersion and is well inserted.
  • I hear small ticking sounds in the radio, television, or other devices that read a signal.
You have routed the Ref. 28 cable or even the tape in contact with other signal-carrying cables: avoid this to prevent malfunctions to these latter devices.
  • The energizer makes noise, but the light bulb no longer lights up.
You have a ground fault, you must locate it and eliminate it. Test the brown Ref. 28 cable; disconnect it from the fence and turn the energizer back on: if you get the same situation, the dispersion is in the cable that you laid out (if you use uninsulated cables you will definitely have the problem); if instead everything works again with the cable disconnected, the problem is on the fence.

Warning!

  • Fault checking

    • Always do a checking tour of the fence; in the evening, sparks are more visible if there are dispersions.
    • Use Testers to find the problem on the tape (Ref. 18, Ref. 19 and Ref. 25).

If you think there are broken stainless steel wires, do not be afraid, cut the tape and put a buckle.
