Horse fences often hide dangers. Let's look at them together.
A wooden palisade is always beautiful, a really nice gift for horses. Not everyone agrees that the horse should cut its teeth on these expensive fences; in fact, once our horse has managed to break it, unnail it or knock it down, it risks getting injured. Our advice is to add one or two loops of Shockproof Safety Tape, this will prevent horses from trying to cross the fence or bite the wood. We recommend the same system to distance your horses from PVC fences, a horse in fact, when it rubs itself even just laterally, exerts a pressure of about 200 kg breaking the fence. That is why using our Tape saves you a lot of repairs.

The beautiful PVC fences you also see in American movies have a problem: they have to compare their beauty with the characteristics necessary to be elected as horse fences. A horse when rubbing against them, even just laterally, exerts a pressure of about 200 kg. You can imagine the result! In the best of cases it will pull out the horizontal posts. This is why some even include a space for inserting the electrified tape.
It is often too low; the horse studies it and takes it as an obstacle to jump or something to rub against, not like the tape where it associates a mysterious meaning (the shock) to the visual part. Its disadvantage is the fact that it is very rigid and does not yield to any stress, even when the horse crashes into it while running. The consequences, as you can imagine, are dramatic and your veterinarian will be able to do very little. A Shockproof Tape on these fences helps prevent the horse from approaching. Result: the fence will last longer because it is not stressed and the horse will have a better life. This also prevents the horse from rubbing, sticking its head through the horizontal elements forcing the fence or more simply scratching its entire mane, ruining it.
The first time it appeared in Sweden, we found it too dangerous.
It is too resistant (it resists about two tons at breaking), and it is too thin to be visible (from 8 to 12 mm).
We have already described how fences similar to iron wire, thin and strong, are too dangerous, consider that we do not recommend using our Ref. B1, the small tape, alone!
The photo shows a Dutch stallion that had an electrified rope paddock. The horse died with a severed neck. You evaluate.

Manufacturers have been clever in creating meshes of different thicknesses, but this allows horses to get their feet tangled or, if shod, to get stuck and hooked whenever they lie down nearby.
Moreover, horses lean against it, scratch themselves and in this way get tangled.

They are a good solution for those who want to isolate the horses, they take away the view from those who have to control the horses in the fences. Their disadvantage is that they are not continuous and over time, and with the death of some plants, they fill with holes: nothing could be more wrong than trying to block these with iron wires. In summer with flies, gnats and horseflies the horses are driven by an unstoppable instinct that leads them to scratch. Thorns, in addition to micro-lacerations, cause very serious damage to the eyes! Not only that... be careful because certain berries and even certain hedges are poisonous.

Very poorly visible, after one season they break and are no longer conductive. And for the horse everything becomes closer: the road, the fields, the grass. It is the cause of the largest number of injuries with barbed wire.
But unfortunately there are many other dangerous fences!
