The presence of a reliable electrified fence in pig farms is among the measures required by Health Authorities to strengthen BIOSECURITY in farms against the ASF (African Swine Fever) emergency

At Badi Farm, with over 30 years of experience in the field of Electrified Fencing, we are today at the forefront of designing and supplying an effective electrified fence to strengthen biosecurity measures in farms. With the Safety Impact-Resistant Electrified System, it is possible to prevent direct contact between domestic pigs and external wild animals such as wild boars. Among the requirements set by the Authorities is the installation of traditional metal fences on the external side of the perimeter and a valid electrified system spaced approximately 100 cm from the fence on the internal side of the enclosure. The 100 cm distance prevents snout-to-snout contact between farm pigs and any wild boars present outside.

Please note that if the farm is located in an area with a high presence of wild boars and wild animals, an additional external electrification beyond the perimeter one must be provided, always marked with appropriate electrical hazard warning signs ref.27.

At Badi Farm we want with this message to provide support in designing an effective electrified fence according to our field experience supporting anti-intrusion and containment fences for national and regional parks, health authorities, and hundreds of installations for private individuals protecting crops and land.

We suggest the application of at least 2-3 turns of 13 mm or 20 mm Safety Impact-Resistant Electrified Tape REF.M2 and REF.M1, placed at different heights from each other and with a minimum height of 10 cm from the ground and maximum of 60 cm. For biosecurity to truly be strengthened, it is necessary to rely on a valid and patented Electrified System.

Our Badi Farm Safety Impact-Resistant Electrified System consists of the electrified tape guaranteed for 10 years. The tape is designed to have high mechanical resistance and extraordinary conductivity throughout the entire perimeter and maximum power even with vegetation contact. Badi Farm tape is also made of polyethylene mesh 0.50 mm in diameter designed to resist UV sun rays and impact-resistant polyester wires (the same material and processing type as safety belts) 0.80 mm on the edges of the tape that make stretching impossible.

Another feature of Badi Farm tape is the choice to use stainless steel conductor wires. We do not use galvanized or tropicalized metals because over the years you risk ending up with a rusty tape and a consequent significant reduction in performance. In addition to the tape, the choice of energizer is important. The beating heart of the entire system where voltage and electrical intensity must be appropriate and constantly monitored. We have various energizer units in our catalog depending on whether you need 220v mains supply or 12v gel battery with solar panel for battery maintenance. REF.E7 and REF.E8

To support, attach and keep the tape in the correct position, a solid insulator comes in handy. The ref.9N insulator is resistant to scorching sun during the hottest months of the year, well-constructed and perfectly "isolates" the tape preventing leakage.

Our Badi Farm Safety electrified fences work so well even under "stress" from vegetation contact that we often forget to do basic maintenance such as cutting vegetation below the tape or cutting plants that touch the tape along the perimeter.

We always suggest being consistent with routine maintenance to avoid excessive system performance loss. If cutting the grass below the tape is not possible, we recommend using a strip of perimeter mulch cloth to be fixed in the line below the tape. Then check the fence performance frequently with the tester REF.18 and REF.19 to intervene in time on the weakest points of the fence.
