FIRST: The electricity will prod the horse every time it tries to graze near the fence. Our electric fences, if well installed, respect this rule. On the other hand, however, even if cattle are fenced with a single wire, it is not enough for the horse; this solution is not safe, especially with thin tapes.
SECOND: The visual barrier created by the tape represents a highly visible and wide obstacle for the horse, making it difficult to cross. Furthermore, when it tries to pass the electrified fence, its instinct will remind it: "No, the fence there is too painful, I cannot pass through, I have to look for another exit". It is to respond to this need that at least two or three tape heights are necessary!

If we put one finger in a socket hole, we don't get shocked! But what if we put two? The energizer is made to transform and pulse, starting from the 220 V of the mains current or the 12 V / 9 V of batteries, multiplying the voltage by 40 (or much more with batteries), but reducing the amperage to a few hundredths of an Ampere.
The system consists of two wires: the first, which we will call "ground", is connected to a special peg driven into the soil, which transforms the ground into a gigantic conductor; the second, the "phase", is attached to the tape. When the horse touches the tape, since its hooves touch the ground, it briefly connects the ground with the phase: this is why it gets shocked.
Shockproof safety fence - The system
To avoid all the unpleasant and impressive consequences of a dangerous fence, even for electric fences, the installation must be seriously studied! It seems inconsistent to say it, but even electric fences are dangerous, because given their incredible good functioning, proper maintenance is not done and it is underestimated that there must always be current coming from the energizer and they must be well tensioned.
The illustrated example is of a correctly installed paddock.

Send us the measurements of the land to be fenced, we design your Shockproof Safety Fence together
Calculating the right amount of material necessary for the proper functioning of a fence is necessarily an arithmetic calculation. Follow the simple formulas below.
| Element to calculate | Formula / Arithmetic rule |
|---|---|
| To calculate the meters of tape needed: | number of tape heights (rows) you want per perimeter (approximated to the lengths of available rolls) |
| To calculate the quantity of posts: | number of wooden or fiberglass posts: divide the perimeter by 3m or 4m |
| To calculate the number of insulators: | number of insulators: number of posts x number of heights (rows); doors: for each door quote (1 handle) |
Below are suggestions to address some environmental and atmospheric problems occurring in this period…
DROUGHT PROBLEM: what to do?
Drought is a current problem affecting all regions of Italy. Some of you are already contacting us asking how to improve current conduction in the fence. If the ground where the T1 earth stake is driven for its entire length lacks water, optimal electric current conduction cannot occur. We all know the unpleasant consequences of a non-functioning fence... Here are three tips to solve the problem:
Option 1: Increase ground stakes (Mega Disperser)
Increase the number of ground stakes. If usually a single stake is sufficient, in cases of drought we recommend using three ground stakes placed 3m apart and connected to each other with a 10mmQ copper or steel cable. The ground stakes must be buried for their entire length, including the cable and the head of the stake. It is ideal to position the stakes not in a row but creating an equilateral triangle when viewed from above. Here is how to add additional dispersers to create a "MEGA DISPERSER", place the three different ground stakes at 3m all buried, arrange the dispersers at least 20m away from power lines or pipes.

Some secrets...
how to use and optimize the ground, that is the propagation phase of your electric fence. If you cannot bury the ground stake, here are some notes to avoid failing due to subsoil composition problems:
A) Optimal positioning
B) 45° positioning if you find rocks
C) Horizontal burial if the rock level is surfacing

|
Option 2: Constant hydration Leave the water hose open next to the ground stake for at least 5 or 6 hours to restore the correct humidity in the area surrounding the ground stake. |
Option 3: BP320 Bipolar Tape Add a row of Shockproof Safety Bipolar Tape Ref. BP320 at the bottom of the fence. The particularity of the Badi Farm Bipolar Tape lies in the fact that the upper part of the green tape identifies the positive pole, the lower part in brown identifies the ground therefore the negative pole, in this way the tape will always work regardless of soil conditions. Once the Tape is installed, we suggest connecting it every 200 m with a T1 stake for the ground. This way you will carry the signal along the entire perimeter of your fence. |

Strong wind... if you have Badi Farm Shockproof Safety Electrified Fences then: no problem! Our fences are built to withstand maximum atmospheric conditions. With the Badi Farm Shockproof Safety Tape there are no problems and if a storm should break out such as to tear down the first fence posts, with a simple repair everything will be functional again. Faced with an uprooted fence, we will operate in the following ways:
N.B. if you notice that due to dragging of the tape discontinuous parts have been created, in the absence of breakage, you can flatten this wavy part with your hands. In the event of tape breakage, however, an R24 buckle must be inserted. |
