Electrified fences

Lightning rod, operating principle

The lightning falls on the fence or close to it (rare case, being all   the plant developed horizontally there are no vertical metal parts). In general, the flow goes back up the line to the electrifier trying to get into the network. The flow arrives in front of the induction coil (No. 3), finds difficulty, changes course. It chooses, normally to discharge to the ground (# 1) in the ground. The parts that make up the Lightning protection system we recommend are:

n.1:the ground stake (Ref. T1) 1.3 m long you will plant in the ground directly under the ribbon near the door of the door that houses the switch;

n.2: the lightning arrester (Ref. 53) blocks the passage of the current, lowering the golf ball as its similar (Ref. 52), but also has a cable n. 4 which is fixed to the ground n.1 and which attracts the lightning to the ground;

n.3: Teflon cable (Ref. 28), rolled in ten turns, for about 10 m, creates an induction coil, which lengthens the path of lightning and creates a magnetic field before the electrificator. Finding this obstacle the thunderbolt that is looking for the shortest way to discharge to the ground, normally changes road, and unloads on the pole to the point n.1 with a small vault arc crossing the n. 2 and the cable n. 4

n.4: the Teflon cable with pointed ends, must be fixed with jumpers to the fence post;

n.5: the electrifier Ref. E5 installed sheltered, near a power outlet, under standardized lifesaving to the law 46;

n.6: Teflon cable to earth connection (number 7) which must be placed in the vicinity of the energizer to be active against lightning, and then it should connect to the real earth that must be near the fence to optimize the operation;

n.7: the ground post, Ref. T1, connected to it must be as we said above, have a further pole for the electrical functions;

n.8: the current comes from the electrifier thanks to the teflon cable Ref. 28 connecting to the dot switch n. 2 (Ref. 52) and connects to the tensioner buckle Ref. 44V blocking the tape;

n.9: use the lightning arrestor Ref. 53A applying it to some particular support screws Ref. 44V . The lightning falling on the fence will look for the shortest route to discharge to the ground passing through the Ref. 53A .



We have observed that the maximum functionality is reached, when in a corner of the enclosure it is mounted as an upper insulator, a Ref. 44V , and its two fastening screws are connected to a galvanized iron wire which is then made to discharge to the ground by means of a Ref. T1.
